I miss believing

I miss waking up in the morning believing there was a God that watched over me. When I needed to focus, I would close my eyes, take deep breathes and pray for focus and determination to complete my tasks. I still do those things. Not because I believe but because it makes me feel better. I miss having faith. There is a sense of human innocence in believing; almost like a child. The terrible tragedy of becoming an atheist, after once believing, is the empty feeling. What used to be there is now replaced by my own conscience. as if i were talking to myself all this time. I often wonder if i can ever go back to believing. When I was young I would teach myself about religion and created my own belief system. Now I am 33 and still doing the same thing.

"ché"

I believe that the Chinese word for car: "ché" has the same root as the word "chariot". The Chinese got horses from the west so they must of have seen chariots. The Chinese pronounced it as "cha".

Funny things my kids say

Isak: "Eeeeeeetthannnn!" (calling ethan to take a shower) Ethan: "Call me Sergeant Ethan Liu" Isak: "Why? You're not in the military!" Ethan: "Pleeeeeasse! Call me Sergeant Ethan Liu!"

Noah's Ark

I'm not religious, so sorry if I offend anyone.

I have a theory about Noah's Ark. Maybe it already exist but I haven't heard it so here it goes:  the story goes that God told Noah to build a boat. But I think he knew a flood was coming because it wouldn't stop raining. He decided to build a boat on high land because it was the smart/logical thing to do.

When he was done animals started appearing. He thought God was sending the animals to him but really, they instinctively know to seek higher grounds during a flood. This also happened during the tsunami in Indonesia.

I'm just saying... If your are building a boat and animals started showing up. You would probably give them a ride too.

Why Guys Give Girls Flowers

I have this theory that the reason why guys give girls flowers is because during our caveman days, when a girl was on her period, she would use flower pedals as maxi-pads. She would be grumpy in her cave and send her man out to get flowers for her. Right? Flower pedals are absorbent, they smell good. Makes sense doesn't it?
